Job description

Position Summary
Franklin University, a private, independent, accredited, not-for-profit University located in Columbus, Ohio invites applicants for its Data Collection and Support Coordinator position. The H.K. and Eva James School of Education Data Collection and Support Coordinator will support the Department Chair, faculty, and staff within the H.K. and Eva James School of Education on all aspects of data collection and support that is related to gaining and maintaining compliance with the requirements of national, regional, and state accreditation agencies. Applicants will be expected to have confidence and experience maintaining existing and establishing appropriate new processes to ensure an organized system of evidence collection. Prior experience with k-12 education, educator preparation programs, Power BI, Watermark, or similar data collection and support tools as well as an understanding of SQL is preferred. The Data Collection and Support Coordinator will assist the Department Chair of the H.K. and Eva James School of Education and appropriate delegates to ensure data integrity so that reports generated can be trusted to provide accurate information. This position will also cultivate positive working relationships across the University and with external stakeholders and regulatory bodies in support of new and existing programs.
They will coordinate with the H.K. and Eva James School of Education faculty and staff for report creation and submission in order to meet the support requirements specified by the HLC, ODHE, ODE, and CAEP. This candidate will need to be an experienced problem solver that can take general direction and then proactively create and maintain report structures required by these and other accreditation bodies. The selected individual will ensure the maintenance of effective document storage and retrieval procedures. The current position is designed to be hybrid, with face-to-face time in Columbus based upon accreditation preparation and visit needs. The position requires occasional flexible work schedules in order to meet periodic deadlines.
The candidate will be able to independently prepare summary documents that provide guidance to the Department Chair, faculty, and staff of the H.K. and Eva James School of Education and appropriate delegates at regular H.K. and Eva James School of Education meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and refine H.K. and Eva James School of Education data tracking tools to track teacher education program requirements and important data points needed for accreditation
  • Monitor and continue to develop processes and data tracking models to ensure the development of high quality teacher candidates to maintain accreditation
  • In conjunction with the Clinical Field Office of the School of Education, maintain a database of all active School of Education partners, in order to manage the field placement of all H.K. and Eva James School of Education candidates (field experience and student teaching)
  • Work with the University's IT staff and vendors to organize training for students, staff, and faculty to ensure that data collection and support tools are utilized effectively
  • Meet stringent deadlines and demonstrate ability to successfully multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Assist with other H.K. and Eva James School of Education projects and initiatives as requested by the Department Chair

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
  • Technical expertise with data models and data mining techniques
  • Experience with reporting packages, such as Power BI, and databases, such as SQL
  • Experience with statistical packages, such as R, SAS, SPSS, or STATA
  • Proficient in Microsoft office capabilities
  • Adept at report writing and presenting findings
  • Bachelor's degree or experience in data related field

  • Required to be available for appointments, onsite meetings and other university activities
  • Some travel may be required on a limited basis
  • Occasional weekend events
