Hours Worked - 7:00am to 4:00pm

What You'll Do as a Motorcycle Mechanic/Technician
- Replaces &/or repairs cylinders, pistons, & transmissions.
- Repairs &/or replaces minor & major parts (e.g., wheels, alternator, brake systems, exhaust systems, electrical relays & other wiring, fuel pumps, carburetors, handle-bars, levers, spark plugs, valves, shocks, body work & lights) on up to 555 program motorcycles & equipment (e.g., truck trailer).
- P erforms preventive maintenance & service (e.g., tunes gas engines; inspects MO motorcycles, trucks & trailers for damage; adjusts parts; changes fluids; operates electronic tools) on trucks, motorcycles & equipment (i.e., generators & batteries).
- Transports mobile trailer units & loads, unloads & transports MO motorcycles & other program equipment & materials (e.g., marking cones, paints, generators, course materials).

Qualifications
Automotive service excellence certification in at least four areas, two of which must be A1, engine repair & A8 engine performance, or T2 diesel engines & T8 preventive maintenance inspection.
The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment, per section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code.
Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong experience diagnosing and repairing a wide range of motorcycle models using modern tools and industry best practices. This includes expertise in engine overhauls, electrical system troubleshooting, brake and suspension repair, and performance tuning. The ideal candidate is proficient with both carbureted and fuel injected systems and is comfortable using advanced diagnostic tools and technical manuals. They maintain a thorough understanding of safety standards and manufacturer specifications, communicate mechanical issues clearly, and work efficiently and independently in a shop environment.
