We are seeking an Structural Engineer to become an integral part of our team!

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Westerville, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-Time
Experience Required: 5-12+ Years

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our multidisciplinary building design consulting team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the structural design and analysis of commercial, institutional, healthcare, educational, industrial, and mixed-use building projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, project leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Technology, Architectural, and Civil disciplines throughout all phases of design and construction.

Candidates must have experience working for a building design consulting firm and possess a strong understanding of integrated building systems and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering and design efforts for a variety of building projects.
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and foundation systems.
  • Prepare structural calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
  • Develop structural plans and details using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Coordinate structural designs with Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Technology disciplines.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents.
  • Conduct field investigations, condition assessments, and site visits.
  • Provide construction administration and technical support during project execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers.
  • Participate in client meetings, project planning, and multidisciplinary design coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while maintaining quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural Engineering focus or Structural Engineering degree.
  • 5+ years of consulting engineering experience focused on building design projects.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License Preferred
  • Extensive experience in structural analysis and design for buildings.
  • Experience working for a building design consulting firm.
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary building design and coordination.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of Revit.
  • Experience coordinating with Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and Technology design teams.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, ASCE, AISC, ACI, IBC, and related industry standards.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Structural Engineer (S.E.) License preferred.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) preferred.
  • Revit experience preferred.
  • Experience with BIM coordination and integrated project delivery.
  • Experience designing healthcare, educational, commercial, municipal, or industrial facilities.
  • Experience with sustainable and resilient building design.
