Job description

Position: Structural Engineer
Reports to: Director, Engineering
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Pay Range: $80,000 - $110,000

We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.

Superior is looking for a Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team. They will be responsible for producing all aspects of engineering deliverables from concept to completion assigned to them by the Director of Engineering or Senior Structural Engineer. The Structural Engineer is responsible for producing best-in-class engineered solutions based on applicable products, services, processes, codes, and standards for Superior’s business objectives. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural engineering analysis and design for assigned projects
  • Develop and compile structural engineering calculations and calculation package deliverables
  • Create structural construction drawings and Revit model deliverables for in-house designs
  • Review designs to identify opportunities for cost-saving solution
  • Collaborate with Superior’s internal teams to support project goals and deliverables
  • Coordinate with owners, construction managers, and owners’ design professionals
    Conduct jobsite observations and provide follow-up communications

Your Character Traits

  • You’re highly organized, great at prioritization, and have a strong attention to detail
  • You’re a great communicator, a team player, and ready to work with colleagues across our jobsites and organization

Your Expertise

  • Required: You have earned your Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with basic knowledge of the design and construction of structural systems
  • Bonus Points: You have at least 1 year of experience in consulting engineering or structural design/construction
  • Bonus Points: You have taken your fundamentals of Engineering test
  • Bonus Points: You have your Professional Engineer (PE) certification in the State of Ohio
