JOIN OUR TEAM as a Residential Home Assistant

Heinzerling Community is seeking compassionate, dedicated Residential Home Assistants who are passionate about enhancing the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. Position Summary

The Residential Home Assistant provides assistance to the staff on the resident living areas by maintaining general cleanliness of the unit, stocking supplies, making beds, and taking residents to and from the bus stop.

Pay Rates & Available Shifts

2nd shift (3p-11:30p). The base pay is $15.25 per hour, with an additional $2.00/hour shift differential and $2.00/hour weekend shift differential.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain general cleanliness of resident living areas, including activity rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
  • Stock supplies in designated areas and assist with mealtime set-up.
  • Assist residents with daily tasks such as brushing their teeth and participating in designated programs and activities.
  • Transport residents to and from designated areas, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Document resident activities and progress as directed by the Unit Manager.
  • Please note, this is not a direct care giving position.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Ability to push residents weighing up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to speak, hear, and remain alert and awake for the entire shift
  • Ability to assist with the care of male and female residents.
