Job description

Community Ambulance Position

This position is responsible for responding to emergency situations, provides skilled emergency and non-emergency services in a variety of areas including emergency medical and rescue operations, basic medical assistance, mentoring, training, quality improvement, public education, and recruitment. The incumbent is responsible for providing supervision and care of patients in the pre-hospital environment including; performing critical basic procedures according to medical protocol; and perform independently in situations involving life support activities.

Essential duties include administering basic life support, safely operating emergency ambulances, attending classes, assisting in rescue operations, communicating with medical personnel, responding to emergency calls, maintaining vehicle and equipment, reporting incidents, adhering to safety policies, maintaining confidentiality, performing maintenance duties, conducting oneself professionally, operating emergency vehicles, documenting reports, and participating in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of EMT-B and state certification, maintaining CME responsibilities, emergency vehicle operator certification, being at least 23 years old, possessing a valid driver's license, attending educational programs, completing annual skills check off, reading and understanding instructions, good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to assess situation needs and problem solve.
