Job description

A growing consumer products company in the CPG cleaning products space is hiring a Product Development Chemist to join their in-house R&D team. This is a hands-on, direct hire opportunity for someone who enjoys formulation work, takes pride in careful lab technique, and wants their day-to-day rooted in bench chemistry. You'll develop and test new formulations, work through quality issues alongside the team, and coordinate across Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality to bring products from concept to production.
What you'll be doing:
  • Develop, test, and refine new formulations in the lab
  • Run stability, compatibility, and performance testing
  • Review test results and troubleshoot quality issues
  • Support EPA registrations and compliance documentation alongside the regulatory team
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Quality
  • Document formulation work, test protocols, and outcomes
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry (strongly preferred over biochemistry)
  • 1-3 years of formulation or product development experience in CPG, chemical, ingredient, or consumer products
  • Hands-on lab experience with formulation, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with EPA-registered products or household/consumer chemicals a plus
  • Working knowledge of GHS/SDS and general regulatory frameworks
  • Strong attention to detail with careful documentation habits
  • Good Communication, both written and verbal
  • Able to work independently while coordinating across departments
  • Reliable transportation
  • Able to pass a background check and drug screen
