Job description

Picture yourself brightening someone's day. When you join our Hotels team, that's exactly what you'll do every time you come to work! As a Food & Beverage Buyer, you're not just purchasing goods for the hotel - you're spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
Responsibilities
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
  • Serve as the point person in the relationship between suppliers and hotel departments.
  • Ensure all orders are placed via a purchase order, properly documented and coded. Order guides should be maintained at all times to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor par levels for all products, adjust by period, and use as a baseline procurement guidance. Deadstock items should be tracked and actioned with department managers to maximize financial flow.
  • Actively walk on-hand inventory prior to placing new orders to avoid over ordering and deadstock.
  • Engage with the chefs and F&B managers daily to understand needs.
  • Attend BEO meetings to understand forecasted needs for special group and then coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability in time for events.
  • Investigate opportunities for collaboration within the departments to maximize efficiency of products and reduce risk in inventory.
  • Identify and organize all regular stock items and special order items with their required lead time to deliver.
  • Create vendor hot sheet with every vendor's information (primary delivery day, contacts, minimums, lead times, etc) for all Chefs/Managers to have access to information in one place.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of respective categories. Use the Inventory Drill Down tool every day to view your inventory & age of your inventory.
  • Communicate product cost increases and/or availability concerns in advance of needs.
  • Address any quality concerns at point of delivery with provider in order to replace and mitigate any disruption to the operations.
  • Forecast, forecast, forecast. Reactionary purchasing should be in emergencies only.
