Job description

Top Cat Concrete has been operating in Central Ohio since 1964. We are a family owned company and looking for people to grow with us. We are looking for an experienced, Senior level Diesel Mechanic to join our team! You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining a fleet of 20-30 concrete mixers and dump trucks while managing a small team of diesel mechanics. Prior experience with air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy duty truck maintenance is necessary. Managing experience also a requirement. Compensation based on experience. We offer all major benefits along with paid vacation, uniforms, and overtime pay. Applicant must provide their own set of tools and have a clean driving record.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Repair and perform routine maintenance on a fleet of concrete mixers, dump trucks, and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on fleet including, but not limited to: Air Brake Systems, Clutches, PTO Systems, Hydraulics, Electrical systems, Gauges, and Preventive Maintenance.
  • Use diagnostic tools to test vehicle components.
  • Manage a team of mechanics to work in a team environment and independently around 50-60 hours a week. (dayshift)
  • Maintain inventory and service logs for each truck.

Diesel Mechanic Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years previous experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Ability to test drive equipment to ensure proper repairs are made.
  • Knowledge of shop equipment.
  • Strong mechanical abilities and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and think and problem solve on the fly.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic tools and computer software
