Job description

General Summary: The project engineer performs work alongside project managers to manage client construction projects. Project types will generally fit into one of the following categories: ground-up (industrial, office and medical), tenant improvement/build-out, and tenant remodel. The project engineer is responsible for assisting the project manager with RFI and submittal tracking, document control, permitting, scheduling, bidding, client/subcontractor/internal meeting documentation, and project closeout. In addition, this position will participate in design coordination, and owner/client interaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists with project administration by way of RFI and submittal tracking, permit status tracking, contract document maintenance, critical path schedule development and maintenance, meeting documentation, bid solicitation, proposal qualification, and project changes tracking.
2. Assists with problem solving, coordination with consultants and subcontractors and field communications.
3. Represents company professionally in project meetings and attends strategy meetings.
4. Interprets and explains plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients as needed.
5. Formulates reports concerning such areas as work progress, scheduling and permitting.
6. Works with superintendent as necessary to assist with planning, organizing and directing activities onsite.
7. Compiles as-built and close out documents, develops and tracks completion of punch lists and addresses warranty claims post-completion.
8. Actively participates in team activities that promote a sense of “esprit de corps” amongst team members.
9. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates taking full ownership of their projects.
Salary range 65,000.00 to 75,000.00 annually plus benefits
