Job description

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking an Associate Splunk Administrator to support the administration and daily operations of Splunk and Cribl environments. This role is ideal for someone who has foundational experience and is looking to expand their skills in logging, monitoring, and platform support. This person will work closely with senior team members to maintain system performance, support data pipelines, and assist with monitoring and troubleshooting efforts. This position plays an important role in helping ensure system stability during a period of team transition. The environment uses Cribl as a data routing and processing layer, with Splunk serving as the primary security information and event management platform.

Responsibilities:

Support daily operations of Splunk and Cribl platforms, including monitoring system health and performance

Assist with maintaining dashboards, alerts, searches, and data inputs

Help onboard new data sources through Cribl pipelines with guidance from senior team members

Troubleshoot basic to moderate issues across the logging workflow from data input to indexing and search

Support logging and monitoring configurations aligned with compliance requirements

Participate in team collaboration to ensure consistent operations and knowledge sharing

Assist in developing user-friendly dashboards for internal stakeholders

Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and occasional on-call rotation



Qualifications:

Foundational experience working with Splunk, including search, dashboards, and alerts

Basic understanding of Cribl or similar data routing tools is preferred

Experience working with Linux systems in a support or administration capacity

Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies

Good communication skills with the ability to work across teams

Ability to work in a Central Time Zone-aligned schedule in a remote setting

Willingness to support occasional after-hours activities and on-call rotation.
