The Electrical Engineer IV serves as the discipline lead at the project level, overseeing electrical design and managing budgets for projects ranging from simple to highly complex. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical documentation development and field implementation across all project phases, with a strong emphasis on the design and engineering of electrical systems for new construction projects.

- Coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
- Managing multiple priorities and complex tasks.
- Directing and mentoring electrical design and engineering staff (Entry-Level through Senior).
- Ensuring workflows align with client expectations and project goals.
The Electrical Engineer IV may work independently or under the direction of a Project Manager and plays a key role in delivering high-quality, technically sound electrical design solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary electrical discipline lead for large, complex projects.
- Manage project budgets and schedules from an electrical design perspective.
- Interface with clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Lead electrical system design programming and master planning.
- Design and engineer electrical systems for new builds, including power distribution systems (4160V, 480V, 240V, and 120V), lighting systems, grounding and bonding, and special systems.
- Oversee quality assurance for electrical design documents, calculations, and specifications.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
- Support construction activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reporting.
- Develop and deliver internal training presentations on electrical design and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on proposals, resource planning, and scheduling for the electrical scope of work.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments. Expertise
- Expertise in electrical system design for new construction, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding/bonding, and special systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and intermediate knowledge of building codes.
- Experience leading field surveys and preparing detailed technical reports.
- Proficiency in cross-discipline coordination and collaboration with construction partners, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and system issues effectively.
