Job description

Your Role:
The Merchandise Planner, Amazon, supports financial and inventory planning for the global Amazon business (US and Canada). This role owns day-to-day planning execution and analysis, ensuring forecasts, inventory flow, and in season actions support sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
You will work closely with the Planning Director to monitor business performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision making in a fast paced, highly complex environment. This role is responsible for translating the merchant's vision into viable profitable results, and requires strong analytical skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across brands and categories
Your Impact:
Planning Execution
  • Own forecasts, inventory plans, and performance tracking for assigned brands or categories
  • Monitor sales, inventory, and margin performance and proactively identify risks and opportunities
  • Support pricing, promotional, and markdown execution through analysis and system updates
  • Maintain planning tools, data accuracy, and reporting used in weekly and monthly business reviews
  • Support projections for budgeting, long range planning, and MPC processes
  • Become an expert in 3rd party platforms to support item set-up, issue resolution, and day to day execution of key tasks

Cross-functional Partnership
  • Partner with Merchandising to align buys and inventory flow to sales targets
  • Execute allocation requests and coordination with SCPA and Distribution Partners to ensure accurate and timely product flow
  • Support article setup, hierarchy updates, and attribute accuracy with catalog partners
  • Partner with Operations, Brand Merchandise Planning, Demand and Deployment, Production, Marketing, and Finance to support consistent execution
  • Partner with Amazon and commerce solution partners to support operational execution

Ownership and Accountability
  • Take ownership of assigned planning workstreams and deliver results with accuracy and urgency
  • Use data and business context to inform recommendations and influence decisions
  • Operate with accountability and attention to detail in a fast-moving environment

Your Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Four to seven years of experience in merchandise planning, financial analysis, or a related role
  • Strong understanding of retail planning fundamentals including forecasting, inventory management, pricing, and promotions
  • Experience with marketplace or digital commerce businesses preferred
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to translate data into insights and recommended actions
  • Comfortable managing complexity and ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Organized, proactive, and accountable for results
  • Expert technical skill proficiency using Microsoft Excel
