Schedule: 40 Hours per Week
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (Intervention Specialist) to join a highly regarded K-12 public charter school serving students throughout the Columbus metro area. This Middle School position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive learning environment focused on academic achievement and individualized student success.
The Special Education Teacher works under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator and collaborates with general education staff, families, and school leadership to provide high-quality educational services and individualized support for students with special needs.
Position Responsibilities- Deliver specialized instruction and academic support to middle school students.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success in inclusive classroom settings.
- Provide consultation, tutorial assistance, and instructional modifications as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and educational planning.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation utilizing SameGoal.
- Communicate effectively with parents, administrators, and educational staff.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local special education regulations.

- Valid Ohio Teaching License required.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- State Teaching Certification as required by state and district regulations.
- Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred.
- One or more of the following preferred:
- Standard Elementary Teaching Certification
- Standard Secondary Teaching Certification
- Standard Special Education Certification
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement
- Must comply with all professional standards of practice.
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Current CPR certification, health certificate, TB screening, PPD, or chest x-ray if required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- $55.00/hour
- Estimated Weekly Gross: $2,200
- $20.00/hour taxable rate
- Weekly Meals Stipend: $560
- Weekly Housing Stipend: $917
