Chassis Dyno Operator
Location: Raymond, OH (Onsite, 5 days per week)
Job Type: Ongoing contract (no end date)
Pay: $33 - $38 an hour
Schedule: M-F 7am - 330pm
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chassis Dyno Operator to support vehicle testing and development in a state-of-the-art automotive testing environment. This role is responsible for operating chassis dynamometer test cells, preparing vehicles for testing, collecting and analyzing data, troubleshooting test equipment, and supporting engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of vehicle validation activities.

Key Responsibilities
Chassis Dynamometer Operations
- Operate chassis dynamometer (dyno) test cells and perform daily climatic testing activities.
- Conduct data acquisition and ensure accurate collection of test results.
- Learn all aspects of test cell operation and develop the ability to identify, communicate, and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Perform light maintenance and cleaning of test cells and associated equipment.
- Work closely with engineers to execute detailed test plans while meeting project deadlines.
- Support vehicle modifications and component changes throughout the testing process.
- Maintain accurate documentation of testing activities and results.
Vehicle Preparation & Instrumentation
- Install thermocouples and instrumentation on a variety of automotive components.
- Install wiring harnesses and data acquisition systems.
- Prepare prototype vehicles and perform mock-up installations using prototype components.
- Ensure all instrumentation and vehicle preparation activities are completed accurately the first time.
- Verify proper operation of all installed equipment before testing begins.
Electronics & Test Equipment Support
- Design, build, modify, and repair wire harnesses for vehicle testing.
- Diagnose and repair damaged testing equipment and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation, data acquisition systems, and test equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on testing equipment as needed.
Additional Support
- Assist engineers with additional testing activities and special projects.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the testing facility.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and testing protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and vehicle operation.
- Experience with data acquisition hardware and software.
- Strong vehicle instrumentation skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot automotive and testing equipment.
- Light welding and fabrication experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work overtime as required to meet testing schedules.
- Comfortable working in extreme environmental conditions, including hot and cold climate testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree (2-year) in Automotive Technology or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience working in automotive testing, research and development, or vehicle validation environments.
