These skills and qualities are crucial for building secure, scalable web applications and adapting to evolving project requirements.

What does a Django Developer do?

A Django Developer is a software engineer who specializes in building web applications using the Django framework, which is based on the Python programming language. Their responsibilities typically include developing server-side logic, designing and maintaining databases, creating APIs, and ensuring the performance and scalability of web applications. Django Developers often collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and other team members to deliver robust and secure web platforms. They are also responsible for writing clean, reusable code and adhering to best practices in web development.

What Does a Django Developer Do?

As a Django developer, your job is to program applications for clients using the Django framework for the Python programming language. In this role, you may help select the resources for each project, oversee development, troubleshoot problems, and test existing code. Many Django developers also integrate data storage solutions and user-facing elements while fulfilling their duties and responsibilities. Jobs in this field are often advertised as Python developer positions because Django is only a framework, so you may need to search for the broader term to find all positions for which you qualify. Senior Engineer III

Our client is building a state-of-the-art platform that enables financial institutions to transition commercial banking relationships by automating account switching across receivables (AR), payables (AP), and payroll systems. The platform integrates with external financial systems, processes transactional data, and supports workflows that require accuracy, auditability, and reliability.

This platform automates complex account switching across receivables (AR), payables (AP), and payroll systems, integrating with external financial platforms while ensuring accuracy, auditability, and reliability in regulated environments.

This is a senior-level engineering role for someone who can own and evolve core backend systems, operate in production environments, and make sound architectural decisions with minimal oversight.

As an Engineer III, you will design, build, and scale backend systems that power critical financial workflows. • Identify and resolve bottlenecks across application, database, and infrastructure layers
  • Debug production issues and lead root cause analysis with permanent fixes
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and system observability
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systems
  • Support integrations with external financial systems and data sources
  • Contribute to AI/LLM-enabled workflow enhancements where applicable
  • Mentor junior engineers and elevate engineering standards

Technical Requirements

  • Strong experience building and operating backend systems in production environments
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance and reliability issues
  • Experience designing and developing scalable APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Python-based backend development
  • Experience with AWS (compute, storage, networking)
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools

Core Competencies:

  • System performance and scalability
  • Reliability and fault tolerance
  • Root cause analysis and production support

Data Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain application-level database schemas
  • Optimize indexing and data access patterns for performance

(Note: This role does not include enterprise data architecture or analytics modeling.)

Qualifications

· 8+ years of backend software engineering experience

  • Full-stack Python/Django + React/TypeScript)
  • Proven experience designing and supporting production systems
  • Strong track record of making sound technical and architectural decisions
  • Experience resolving complex production issues independently
  • Background in fintech, payments, banking, or SaaS platforms
  • Experience working in regulated environments (PCI, SOC2, etc.)
