Job description

We’re looking for a dependable Operations Engineer to support MPW’s Industrial Water division through technical expertise, operational support, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role partners with field teams, customers, vendors, and internal departments to improve equipment reliability, ensure safe operations, and deliver high-quality service solutions across industrial environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Support field operations through troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial water treatment equipment and control systems.
  • Review operational processes and equipment performance to ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety requirements, and customer contracts.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, and field testing activities for industrial systems and equipment installations.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to support system diagnostics and modifications.
  • Assist with the assembly, wiring, testing, and validation of control panels, instrumentation, and related electrical components.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Allen-Bradley ControlLogix and SLC PLC systems.
  • Support operation and troubleshooting of RSView32 and FactoryTalk HMI platforms.
  • Collaborate with operations, sales, field service, and applications teams to deliver customer-focused technical solutions.
  • Participate in project planning activities including scheduling, installation coordination, quality verification, and system commissioning.
  • Evaluate equipment and system performance to identify opportunities for process improvement, reliability enhancements, and operational efficiency.
  • Support networking and communication system troubleshooting including Ethernet/IP connectivity and industrial control integration.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to field service activities, equipment modifications, testing results, and project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with all MPW safety procedures, customer site requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Travel to customer and project sites as needed to provide technical support and operational assistance.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • 3–5 years of experience supporting industrial electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, networking, or power distribution environments.
  • Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC systems, FactoryTalk software, Ethernet/IP networking, and NEC electrical code standards.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Ability to work in industrial environments that may include exposure to noise, vibration, chemicals, temperature extremes, and wet conditions while wearing required PPE.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds during equipment inspections, maintenance, and field support activities.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules, overtime, weekends, or travel between customer sites as operational demands require.
