Job description

Production General Service Worker
Position Summary
To serve our internal and external customers by stocking raw materials needed for the production process (e.g. lids, wraps, glue, trays) and by operating production equipment to provide coverage for machine operator and filler operators breaks and lunches so the operations team can meet and maintain productivity standards.
Essential Functions
  • Operates forklift to transport raw materials (e.g. glue, wraps, lids) to production line to maintain production process, stocks raw materials in appropriate storage areas.

  • Operates production machines (e.g. palletizer, depalletizer, denester, case packer) according to established company standards; ensures machine is set for correct specifications (e.g. package size).

  • Ensure that the correct raw materials (e.g. bottles, cans, caps, lids) are run through equipment according to the product being produced and that quality of raw materials meets established company standards; perform raw material and machine changeovers.

  • Adheres to all company policies, standards and procedures (e.g. OSHA and safety requirements, AIB and Pepsi standards, Federal/State/Local laws) wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • Communicates with co-workers, supervisor and management team verbally regarding the status of work activities (e.g. any issues with equipment, product quality and production process) and other information, supervisor regarding questions or issues with daily assignments.

  • Performs code checks, taste tests and other quality tests; calculates efficiencies.

  • Completes code check reports, forklift checks, taste test reports, production reports, time off requests and other required paperwork according to established standards.

  • Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works overtime as needed to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

  • Performs minor adjustments and maintenance to machine to ensure it is operating according to established standards.

  • Maintains cleanliness of work area (e.g. cleans up any product and/or container spills; disposes of trash and recycling materials into proper containers).

Education Level
Minimum - High School or GED
Experience
0 - 1 years of forklift experience required; previous machine operator and/or production line experience strongly preferred; previous beverage production experience strongly preferred.
Additional Requirements
Knowledge of: beverage production process; beverage industry.
Skill in: internal customer service; can operate a stand-up lift.
Ability to: work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; communicate effectively with other employees and develop good working relationships; adapt to change; read and write; perform basic math functions (e.g. addition and subtraction); be trained in operating a computer, palletizer, depalletizer, case packer, labeler, stand up forklift, coder and other mechanical equipment. Operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT), including forklifts, in compliance with safety standards and company procedures. Other functions, skills and abilities may also apply.
