Job description

The DC Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations for the fabrication shop and/or field mechanical construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with design specifications and quality standards. This position is responsible for supervising skilled trades personnel, coordinating with project management, and maintaining high standards of workmanship for mechanical systems, piping, ductwork, and associated equipment in data center or industrial environments. *This is a 3rd shift role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervision & Leadership
  • Lead and manage a team of fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and mechanical installers.
  • Assign daily work tasks, monitor progress, and ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
  • Train and mentor crew members to develop skills and maintain high performance standards.

2. Fabrication & Installation Oversight
  • Supervise the fabrication of piping, ductwork, and support systems according to drawings and specifications.
  • Oversee the field installation of HVAC, chilled water, condenser water, and other mechanical systems within data centers or industrial projects.
  • Ensure correct use of materials, tools, and equipment, verifying compliance with design and QA/QC standards.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and fabrication details to ensure accurate execution.

3. Project Coordination
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to align fabrication and installation schedules.
  • Track materials, equipment, and labor resources to support timely project completion.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to provide input on constructability and scheduling.
  • Ensure proper documentation of fabrication progress, testing, and installation activities.

4. Quality & Compliance
  • Inspect completed work to ensure adherence to company standards, specifications, and local codes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical systems.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience:
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping fabrication, and mechanical assembly practices.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction or fabrication (data center, industrial, or commercial).

Job Skills:
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Detailed oriented.
  • Strong computer skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work may be performed in both shop and field environments.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying conditions (indoor/outdoor, elevated platforms).

Special Requirements:
• OSHA 10 certified
