Job description

The District Business Manager (DBM), Dermatology will report to the Regional Director, Dermatology, and is responsible for hiring, leading, developing, and retaining Dermatology Sales Representatives in their assigned district. The DBM drives accountability for district results and ensures ethical execution aligned with applicable pharmaceutical promotion compliance policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and measure strategic business plans to meet sales objectives per company and regulatory standards.
  • Meet/exceed sales goals for designated products via direct management of sales representatives; provide performance updates to sales directors.
  • Participate in face-to-face customer sales calls with representatives (about 4 days/week).
  • Plan and execute district sales meetings; conduct performance evaluations; attend company-sponsored events.
  • Recruit, select, and train top sales representatives; support coaching/metric reviews.
  • Lead coaching and career development plans for district representatives.
  • Analyze sales data, performance, and trends; formulate strategies to drive product demand and revenue.
  • Monitor competitor activities; provide home-office progress updates; respond to district information requests.
  • Identify marketplace opportunities; share best practices across the organization.
  • Develop team norms aligned with company culture and performance.
  • Monitor/control district expenditures to meet budget.
  • Serve as liaison with field sales management and departments (HR, Marketing, Finance).
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key HCPs.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree/advanced certifications a plus (science/clinical focus preferred).
  • 7+ years pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience, including 3 years sales leadership/management; Dermatology market experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven record of hiring/coaching/developing/retaining top talent; ability to lead team performance.
  • Demonstrated integrity and success managing complex markets as a District Sales Manager.
  • Strong payer/reimbursement knowledge across national/regional/local markets.
  • Proven success building physician/key customer relationships.
  • Ability to partner with internal departments.
  • Extensive travel required (regular overnight travel possible).

District: Ohio Valley Market (Nashville, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh).

Compensation (US annualized range): $138,200.00 - $234,900.00.
