Job description

Position Summary



Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to lead all aspects of Human Resources for a growing infrastructure and construction-focused organization. This role will serve as a strategic business partner to leadership while overseeing employee relations, labor relations, talent acquisition, compliance, compensation, benefits administration, workforce planning, and HR technology



The ideal candidate will bring experience supporting both union and non-union workforces, possess strong labor relations expertise, and have advanced experience administering Dayforce (formerly Ceridian) HCM


This position requires a proactive leader who can balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR operations in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Essential Responsibilities


Human Resources Leadership

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support organizational growth and operational objectives
  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational development
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives across multiple business functions and locations
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices that align with company goals and regulatory requirements



Labor Relations & Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for union-related matters, including contract interpretation, grievance administration, disciplinary actions, and labor-management meetings
  • Ensure consistent application of collective bargaining agreements and company policies
  • Conduct employee relations investigations and provide recommendations for appropriate resolutions
  • Partner with operational leaders to foster positive employee and labor relations while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead recruitment efforts for field operations, project management, skilled trades, administrative, and corporate positions
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify workforce needs and develop strategic hiring
  • plans. Oversee onboarding programs that promote employee engagement, safety, and long-term retention
  • Support leadership development and succession planning initiatives.



Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, EEO, and labor relations requirements.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documents
  • Assist with audits, regulatory reporting, and compliance initiatives
  • Support risk management efforts through effective policy administration and employee training programs



Dayforce (Ceridian) HCM Administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Dayforce
  • HCM. Manage system configuration, workflows, employee data integrity, security roles, and reporting functions.
  • Develop HR dashboards, reports, and workforce analytics to support business decision
  • -making. Partner with Payroll, Finance, and Operations to ensure accurate employee records and system functionality.
  • Lead testing, implementation, optimization, and training efforts related to Dayforce enhancements and upgrades.



Compensation &

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources
  • experience.Minimum of 3 years supporting a unionized
  • workforce.Hands-on experience administering Dayforce
  • Strong understanding of labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and grievance administration
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing employee relations
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solv
  • ing skills.Ability to build strong relationships with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization



  • PreferredExperience within construction, infrastructure, utility, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or field-service environments
  • Experience supporting prevailing wage environments
  • Multi-state HR
  • experience.SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR
  • Experience supporting rapid organizational growth and workforce expansion.
