American Structurepoint's Utility Infrastructure Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Columbus, OH! As a Utility Infrastructure Intern, you'll work alongside engineers on real utility projects, including water and stormwater systems-gaining hands-on experience through design work, calculations, and field visits. You'll support both office tasks and construction activities in the field, all while developing essential skills through structured training.

Responsibilities
What you will do:
  • Collaborate directly with Project Managers and the Ohio Department of Public Works team to research data and records for regulatory compliance - getting real experience working with clients
  • Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS), client databases, and historic records to uncover important project information - building your tech and research skills
  • Gain valuable insight into working as a consultant in a client-focused environment, learning how to communicate and deliver professional results
  • Conduct research, summarize your findings, and help prepare key documents like permit applications, technical exhibits, design drawings, and inspection records
  • Other tasks as needed to support the team

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Students majoring in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, Land Surveying, Structural Engineering, or related programs with a focus on Civil Engineering
  • Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license for travel to project sites
  • Strong work ethic, effective communication skills, and eagerness to learn and take on new challenges
