Position Description
Responds to radio, telephone, teletype, and in person requests for warrants and record checks, receives and sends legal documents to law enforcement and other governmental agencies regarding the arrest and detention of individuals.
Checks records, separates and files documents, assures accuracy of records.
Assists public by making copies and records checks, collects fees and issues receipts, counts money, and types documents. Other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Must type 35 wpm
Must be able to obtain and retain LEADS certification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and techniques applicable to assigned duties and Sheriff's Office rules and regulations*. Skill in operating radio and teletype equipment, typing and operating a computer terminal. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; express one self orally and speak distinctly over radio and telephone; complete routine forms or records; collate and classify information about data, people or things.
UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended or intermittent periods of time.
