Job description

2-month contract
Position Summary

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Quality / Process Technician to support installation-site inspection and rework activity. This individual will perform inspections using CAPA-guided criteria, document findings, execute rework based on direction from the Quality Engineer, and support return material authorization (RMA) workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, quality-driven field environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Inspect products and materials using direction from the Quality Engineer and historic CAPA insight.
  • Complete inspection and CAPA checklists accurately and consistently.
  • Perform rework and repair tasks related to quality and manufacturing findings.
  • Identify and clearly report manufacturing or process defects to the Quality Engineer.
  • Support RMA documentation and packaging for material returns.
  • Assist with commissioning-related quality findings as required.
  • Inspect and rework material determined to be the manufacturing partner’s responsibility and report results.

Must Haves (Mapped to Experience)

  • 2+ years hands-on experience performing inspection and/or rework in manufacturing, production, or field service settings.
  • 1+ year experience working within a structured quality process (checklists, defect documentation, rework verification).
  • Ability to follow technical procedures and complete detailed documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent execution.
  • Comfortable working under the direction of engineering and quality leadership in a pod-based structure.

Plusses (Mapped to Experience)

  • 1+ year experience supporting a formal quality management system or CAPA-driven environment.
  • Exposure to commissioning or validation activities.
  • Experience with electromechanical assembly, disassembly, or cosmetic rework.
  • Familiarity with RMA, logistics, or material return processes.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree is a plus.
