Job description

Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Project Manager ensures the project is completed on time, within budget, and on schedule.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Follows Mission, Vision, Values
  • Directs and leads multiple crews
  • Actively manages schedule to ensure project completion
  • Manages financial aspects of contracts (change orders, applications of payments, equipment rentals, back charges, etc.) and Forecasts budgets, costs controls, and cost codes
  • Initiates and Oversees project documentation including reports, RFI's, field orders, minutes, report procedures, schedule of values, system units, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices
  • Prepares monthly financial projections
  • Ensures initial project schedule is issued to appropriate personnel
  • Acts as a liaison by effectively communicating between clients, architects, engineers and contractors
  • Responsible for "page turn" meetings with sub-contractors
  • Participates in all project meetings
  • Formulates detailed project schedules of time and values and submits to leadership
  • Oversees quality control including control logs, deviation reports, and as-builts
  • Leads weekly safety audits
  • Coordinates staffing requirements
  • Establishes closeout goals and manages closeout process
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, ProContractor and Blue Beam
  • Excellent understanding of construction drawings, principles and practices
  • Strong understanding of layout
  • Strong Carpenter skills

Education and Experience:
  • Degree in Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field preferred
  • 5 + years' related field experience
  • Valid drivers license or State ID
  • CPR and First Aid (Thompson will train)
  • 30-hour OSHA certification

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to kneel, crouch, balance, climb, and crawl
  • Must be able to traverse different types of worksites and bend, climb, stretch, and reach
  • Must be able to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in a variety of environments including but not limited to concrete, dirt, fumes, and loud noise levels
  • Must be able to work long hours and Saturdays when needed
