Safety Manager, Electrical Data Center Construction

Location: Lancaster, OH
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 8+ Months
Type: 1099 Contract
Pay: $52 to $57/hr
Per Diem: None Available
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: 50 to 60 hours per week, based on project needs
Shift: Daytime site coverage

About the Opportunity

Sheakley is seeking an experienced Safety Manager to support an electrical subcontractor on a new data center construction project in Lancaster, OH.

This is a strong opportunity for a safety professional with electrical construction experience who is comfortable being highly visible in the field, working closely with supervision, and helping drive safe execution on a fast-moving, high-hour construction site.

The Safety Manager will provide day-to-day jobsite safety leadership, support OSHA and site-specific compliance, identify and correct hazards, and partner with field teams to keep work moving safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will support electrical construction operations by maintaining a strong field presence, reinforcing safe work practices, and helping project teams stay aligned with safety expectations.

Key responsibilities include:

โœ… Overseeing daily safety activities for electrical construction scopes
โœ… Conducting jobsite inspections, observations, and safety audits
โœ… Identifying hazards and partnering with field leadership on corrective actions
โœ… Supporting compliance with OSHA standards, site procedures, and contractor requirements
โœ… Leading or assisting with orientations, toolbox talks, and daily safety communications
โœ… Monitoring high-risk activities and providing proactive field support
โœ… Maintaining accurate safety documentation, reports, and incident records
โœ… Supporting incident response, investigations, and follow-up actions as needed
โœ… Collaborating with project management, supervisors, and crews to reinforce a strong safety culture

What We're Looking For

Qualified candidates should bring strong construction safety experience, confidence working around active electrical scopes, and the ability to communicate clearly with both field crews and leadership.

Minimum qualifications:

โœ… OSHA 510 or OSHA 500 required
โœ… 8+ years of safety experience
โœ… Construction safety background supporting active jobsite operations
โœ… Experience working around electrical subcontractor scopes
โœ… Strong field auditing, hazard recognition, and documentation skills
โœ… Ability to work on-site in Lancaster, OH
โœ… Ability to support 50 to 60 hours per week
โœ… Availability for an 8+ month assignment

Preferred:

โœ… BCSP certification preferred
โœ… Data center, industrial, commercial, or large-scale construction experience preferred
โœ… Experience supporting electrical contractors or complex MEP scopes highly preferred
