Job description

Location:

4910 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn Ohio

Job Summary

We're seeking a CI/CD Engineer to support the advancement of a delivery platform that enables secure, reliable, and efficient software releases. In this role, you will partner with application and platform engineering teams to design and implement modern automation solutions that scale across the organization and improve the speed and consistency of software and infrastructure delivery to production.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys improving developer experience, reducing friction in the software lifecycle, and building standardized solutions that encourage broad adoption. The role offers the chance to influence engineering standards, strengthen platform capabilities, and help shape a delivery ecosystem built for speed, quality, and resilience.

Essential Functions

  • Pipeline Engineering: Architect, build, and evolve scalable, reusable, and secure CI/CD pipelines in GitLab that support modern, multi-language, microservice-based applications.
  • Release Orchestration & Gating: Integrate deployment pipelines with change-management and compliance systems like ServiceNow to automate change requests and pipeline gates without manual overhead.
  • Artifact Management: Administer package and container registries (e.g., JFrog Artifactory, GCP Artifact Registry) and support tooling to facilitate developer interactions with the registries.
  • Cloud Deployment: Collaborate on building secure, repeatable deployment templates targeting Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (such as GKE, Cloud Run, GCS, and IAM).
  • Developer Enablement: Create CI/CD templates and self-service automation that help product engineering teams launch new services quickly with secure defaults and built-in quality controls.
  • Quality & Security Gating: Embed static analysis (SAST/DAST), Software Composition Analysis (SCA), and unit/integration test gates directly into merge request pipelines.
  • Operational Excellence: Diagnose and resolve complex build, runner, caching, and deployment issues.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Interpret and write terraform. Debug state and provide guidance to developers.
  • Documentation: Author clear, accessible developer playbooks, architectural diagrams, and migration guides to drive inner-source contributions and pipeline adoption.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent practical, hands-on experience.

Work Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or full-stack development with hands-on exposure to CI/CD.

Required Technical Skills

  • Scripting: Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Javascript, along with shell scripting (Bash) to develop automation, integration workflows, and internal developer tooling.
  • Public Cloud Platform: Solid foundation in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially services such as GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, IAM role bindings, and VPC service controls in modern cloud-native delivery environments.
  • Source & Pipeline Orchestration: Hands-on experience with GitLab, including branching strategies, GitLab CI YAML, matrix builds, parent-child pipelines, caching, and custom runner configuration in production-grade environments.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Solid understanding of Terraform configuration and state management to provision pipeline and cloud resources safely.
  • Containerization: Knowledge of Docker, including multi-stage builds, layer caching, image optimization, and container orchestration concepts.
  • Artifact Registry Management: Hands-on experience working with binary/package registry ecosystems such as NPM, PyPI, NuGet, Maven, Docker, or Helm.
  • Automated Release Gating & API Integration: Hands-on experience integrating pipelines with REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth-based services, ServiceNow APIs, and other enterprise platforms to support low-touch change control, status checks, and cross-system workflow automation.
