Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Employment Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Shift: Days (Monday - Friday, 7am - 3:30pm)

Pay: $34.00 - $40.00 / hr.

About Us

Engineered Profiles is a plastic extrusion manufacturer that operates multiple custom extrusion lines and downstream systems, supported by a strong 25-person maintenance department. We prioritize safety, uptime, and continuous improvement, and we're looking for an Electrical Controls Technician who can help keep our operation running at peak performance.

This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and focused on classic industrial controls. Primary focus is industrial electrical troubleshooting, drives, instrumentation, and machine controls. PLC troubleshooting experience is beneficial but not required.

Position Overview

We’re looking for a skilled Electrical Controls Technician to support the electrical and controls systems that keep our production lines running safely and reliably. This role focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving power circuits, control circuits, instrumentation, and automation equipment across the facility.
This is a hands‑on, hourly role for someone strong in relay logic electrical troubleshooting

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Diagnose and repair power circuits, control circuits, safety circuits, relays, and field devices
  • Troubleshoot and replace VFD’s, sensors, encoders, and instrumentation
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and controls equipment
  • Maintain and update electrical schematics and documentation
  • Support production / maintenance teams during downtime events
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams on production issues, Capex Projects, & continuous improvement projects
  • Follow all electrical safety and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Willing to work at heights

Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Relevant Experience

Required

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with relay logic troubleshooting in an industrial environment
  • Ability to safely work on electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Hands-on experience with VFD’s instrumentation, and motor control circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, etc.
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Education

  • Two- year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Mechatronics, or Automation/Controls Technology
  • Completion of state-recognized electrical apprenticeship
  • Military electrical/technical training

Preferred Experience

  • 10+ years in an industrial maintenance or electrical role
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware(PLC-5, SLC500, CompactLogix) for online diagnostics (no programming required)
  • Able to use AutoCAD to create / update electrical drawings
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70E and industrial electrical safety practices
  • Willingness to obtain company sponsored certifications (70E, LOTO, etc)
  • Experience in continuous-process manufacturing
