Summary: 
The Paving Products Manager is responsible for directing, counseling, coaching, and supervising employees charged with maximizing paving products new sales, product support revenues, and Cat Technology Products. This position is responsible for all things related to paving products, including business plan execution, market analysis, sales and product support growth, team development, product updates, and customer-facing execution of the Cat Value Proposition.
The role is accountable for meeting all sales and revenue goals and requires strong interpersonal, administrative, sales, and industry-specific skills to perform and carry out all responsibilities of the position. 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the paving products team to achieve sales, revenue, and profitability objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive growth in paving products, product support, and Cat Technology sales.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate team members to improve performance, product knowledge, and sales effectiveness.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Promote and deliver the Cat Value Proposition to customers through effective sales, support, and relationship management.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for paving products and Cat Technology solutions, providing guidance to employees and customers.
  • Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to achieve business goals.
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar and internal departments to maximize product support and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and represent the company at customer, industry, and Caterpillar meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, industry experience, and training preferred.
  • Significant retail sales, management, or operational experience in the paving, construction equipment, engineering, or related industry.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of paving products, paving operations, Cat Technology solutions, and the Cat Value Proposition and ability to articulate to internal and external customers. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the training and support capabilities within the Caterpillar organization. 
  • Experience with Cat Technology Products, especially those related to paving, and the ability to train internal and external customers on those products. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and performance assessment skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote), CRM systems, and mobile technology (including iPhone and iPad).
  • Ability to work effectively in office, dealership, customer, and field/jobsite environments.
  • Ability to travel and attend company, customer, Caterpillar, and industry meetings as required.

Physical Requirements:
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
