Job description

CapEx Engineer (Capital Projects Engineer)
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a CapEx Engineer to support capital investment projects for a growing manufacturing organization. This individual will play a key role in planning, executing, and optimizing capital expenditures, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead capital project execution from concept through completion, including scope development, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Evaluate and justify capital expenditures through ROI analysis and business case development
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to identify equipment and process improvement opportunities
  • Manage vendor selection, equipment procurement, and contractor coordination
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes through capital investment initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field)
  • 7+ years of experience supporting capital projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of capital budgeting, cost analysis, and project justification
  • Experience managing equipment installations and process improvements
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems, automation, and process design
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems and capital planning tools
  • Background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
  • Experience supporting multi-site or large-scale manufacturing operations
