About the Position

Are you an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys working with your hands, solving problems, and taking pride in keeping a building running safely and smoothly?

We are looking for a skilled, hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to help maintain our property in Columbus.

This is an active maintenance and repair position. The person in this role will personally troubleshoot and complete a variety of building repairs involving HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical systems, and general property maintenance.

You do not need to be an expert in every trade, but you should have strong hands-on maintenance experience, good troubleshooting skills, and the ability to independently complete many common building repairs.

This is not primarily a contractor-management or supervisory position. Our Site Manager handles contractor coordination and pricing. Your focus will be keeping the building safe, clean, operational, and well maintained.

What You'll Do

As our Building Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Perform hands-on maintenance,      troubleshooting, and repairs throughout the property.
  • Diagnose and address common HVAC,      electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical issues.
  • Perform preventative and routine      building maintenance.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to      identify maintenance, cleanliness, and safety concerns.
  • Respond to maintenance needs and      determine the appropriate steps to resolve problems.
  • Complete repairs within your      skill level and communicate when specialized service may be needed.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe,      functional, and welcoming environment for tenants, employees, and      visitors.
  • Communicate with the Site Manager      and Regional Manager regarding completed work, ongoing projects, repair      needs, and necessary supplies.
  • Take ownership of maintenance      issues and follow through until they are resolved.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is dependable, knowledgeable, and comfortable working independently.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Previous hands-on building,      facilities, property, apartment, commercial, or similar maintenance      experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair      skills.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC,      electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building      maintenance.
  • The ability to identify a      problem, determine a solution, and complete repairs safely.
  • Good time-management and      organizational skills.
  • A strong commitment to workplace      and building safety.
  • The ability to work independently      while communicating effectively with management.
  • The ability to stand and move      throughout the building for extended periods.
  • The ability to safely lift and      carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills, including      email and video conferencing.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive starting pay of      $32-$35 per hour, based on experience and expertise.
  • Full-time position.
  • Medical, dental, and vision      insurance available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
  • An opportunity to use your skills      and experience in a role where your work makes a visible difference every      day.
