Summary:
Job Summary:Maintains responsibility for tracking, monitoring, reviewing, interpreting, and communicating all aspects of existing, proposed, and newly enacted federal and state rules and regulations, Joint Commission (JC) accreditation standards, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Conditions of Participation, 340B and all other accreditations relative to the practice of pharmacy within the health system. Collaborates with the Directors, managers, supervisors, clinical pharmacists, and pharmacists who are responsible and accountable for decisions affecting successful accreditation and compliance with enacted federal and state rules and regulations and CMS Conditions of Participation. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required:
Possess a current Pharmacist License from the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
3 years of experience practicing as a pharmacist
Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or obtains within 90 days of hire.
Experience with regulatory standards, accreditation surveys, or pharmacy compliance initiativesExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong management and leadership skills.Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
Possesses a current Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate from the American Pharmacist Association (APhA), or an equivalent certification from a program recognized by the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
Completion of course in the administration of drugs that satisfies the requirements pursuant to paragraph(L) of rule 4729:1-3-03 of the administrative code.
Master of Science in Pharmacy from an institution approved by both the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
Pharm.D. degree from a State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy approved institution.
Master of Business Administration from an accredited institution.
Completion of an American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited residency.Board Certification (e.g., BCPS, BCACP, etc.)
Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.
May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
Requires some exposure to biohazardous chemicals.
