Summary:
The Manufacturing Operator operates and monitors precision equipment used in lithium-ion battery prototyping. This role supports a fast-paced R&D environment by producing high-quality experimental cells while maintaining strict safety and process standards. Operators are expected to develop deep expertise in at least one process area while remaining competent across all others.
Responsibilities:
- Operate slurry mixers, slot die coaters, calendering/slitting machines, cell assembly equipment, and battery testing
- Prepare materials and set up equipment according to defined process parameters and SOPs
- Monitor processes and inspect materials to ensure quality and consistency
- Perform basic troubleshooting and routine equipment maintenance
- Record production data, process parameters, and equipment performance
- Follow all safety protocols, including chemical handling and PPE requirements
- Collaborate with EHS, engineering, facilities, and R&D teams to support process development and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
- 2+ years of experience operating manufacturing or processing equipment
- Experience operating and using Siemens PLCs.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely
- Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation
- Experience with battery manufacturing or similar materials/process equipment preferred
- Familiarity with coating, mixing, calendering, slitting, assembly processes, or battery testing preferred
- Experience in prototyping, pilot-line, or R&D environments preferred
- Knowledge of dryroom practices and quality systems preferred
