Histology technologist

Part-time, evening shift

Position Purpose:

Histology Technician provides the technical component for anatomical pathology (surgical pathology, cytopathology, autopsy, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High school graduate or General Equivalency Degree (GED) required or Bachelors Degree.

Licensure / Certification: Histology Technician, HT (ASCP) certificate or HT (ASCP) eligible preferred. American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Histology Technician (HT)certified or eligible, and HLT certified or eligible.

Experience: Previous histology experience or one year formal training will be considered.

Effective Communication Skills

Manual dexterity absolutely necessary, as well as ability to lift supplies.

Must possess basic computer knowledge

Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed

Ability to utilize different histology instrumentation including maintenance and troubleshooting

Ability to respond to change

Ability to work independently

Prefer some Immunohistochemistry experience
