Assistant Project Manager (Data Center Construction & Controls)

Location: Columbus, OH
Travel: Regional Travel as Needed
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Overview

JSET is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of data center, controls, and mission-critical infrastructure projects.

This is a field-focused role that works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, vendors, and customers to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward.

This position offers a clear development path for individuals looking to build a long-term career in project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Project Managers with project execution and coordination
  • Track project progress, schedules, action items, and deliverables
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and logistics
  • Support project budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
  • Attend project meetings and communicate project updates
  • Maintain documentation in Procore and other project management systems
  • Coordinate with field teams, vendors, subcontractors, and customers
  • Assist with project closeout and turnover activities
  • Participate in jobsite visits and field coordination efforts
QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience in construction, project coordination, project administration, field operations, or a related environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or a related field
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software
  • Experience supporting project schedules, procurement, budgets, or change management
  • Experience in construction, electrical, controls, automation, or low-voltage industries
