Job description

Role Summary:
Intermediate cable installer who executes standard copper and fiber placement, dressing, and basic termination tasks under lead direction while maintaining quality and safety expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull, route, and dress copper/fiber cables in trays and cabinets following defined routes and workmanship standards.
  • Assist with termination and enclosure work as assigned; maintain bend radius and proper slack storage.
  • Apply labels per instructions and participate in self-checks/peer checks to confirm correctness before the test.
  • Support test teams by preparing links (cleaning connectors, verifying endpoints) and performing remediation tasks as directed.
  • Maintain tool control, housekeeping, and safe work practices on ladders/lifts and in congested work areas.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Practical installation knowledge for copper and fiber in data hall environments; ability to follow standards and work packages.
  • Ability to use common installation tools and understand basic cable identification and cable route practices.
  • Good attention to detail for labeling, dressing, and avoiding damage to cables/connectors.
  • Team-oriented communication and readiness to escalate issues early.

Certifications / Training
  • Preferred: Entry BICSI/FOA training or equivalent on-the-job experience.
