Due to an unexpected resignation, Oakstone Academy School has an immediate opening for an Integrated Language Arts 7-12 teaching position in our High School for the 2026-27 school year.  This full-time teaching position offers an 185-day teaching contract, a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits & retirement packages, and accrued sick and personal time off.

The Children’s Center for Developmental Enrichment (CCDE)/Oakstone Academy School is a private, chartered school in Central Ohio. It currently serves neurotypically developing and special-needs students from Pre-Kindergarten through High School, located in Westerville, Ohio, northeast of Columbus. Our special-needs students primarily have Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Teaching License:

  • Integrated Language Arts (7-12)

Job Description and Requirements:

  •  Design lessons that provide an opportunity for problem-solving, creativity, and
  • communication skills concerning authentic, real-world problems for a diverse population of learners
  • Establish and maintain behavioral standards that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students.
  • Develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies for each student’s academic growth
  • Communicate clear, high expectations for all students while utilizing content-specific strategies to teach main concepts, industry fields, and core employability skills effectively
  • Incorporate project-based learning frameworks and explicitly evaluate core employability soft skills within the daily curriculum
  • Maintain accurate, efficient, and effective records for instructional and social development purposes
  • Communicate with parents, students, and other teachers regularly to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, score assessments, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional approaches and strategies, monitor completion of assignments, and coach special projects;
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Utilizes technology to communicate with their students creatively
  • Proven success in the classroom
  • Strong Character
  • Can work and succeed in a TEAM environment
  • Encourages, secures, and maintains the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Required Certification: Integrated Language Arts (7-12) with the Ohio Department of Education
  • Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)
  • Experience in Educational Technology a plus
  • Student and family-focused approach
  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
