The City operates under a Council‑Manager form of government, where the city manager is the City’s chief executive officer reporting to a seven‑member City Council. The city manager appoints and removes the director of law and the director of finance, subject to the consent and approval of the City Council. All other department heads are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the city manager. Departments include Community Development, Public Service, Police, Administration, Strategic Initiatives, and Finance.

The city manager is the City’s chief executive officer reporting to the City Council. The role includes appointment and removal of senior department directors, oversight of city departments, strategic planning, budget development, and ensuring the efficient operation of city services.

The starting salary range is $179,499–224,374 depending on qualifications and experience.
