Job description

General Overview:

The servers and bartenders at Schmidt's Sausage Haus play a key-role in delivering our guests with the authentic, German experience! This role is best suited for an enthuastic, multi-tasker who enjoys interacting with guests in a fast-paced environment. Our servers work permanent schedules, with swapping and switching allowed, excpet during the Christmas/Hoilday season.  

We are looking for individuals who are/have:

-Reliable and able to make their scheduled shifts and work flexible hours

-High energy

-Excellent customer service skills

-Ability to handle high volume (5-10 tables at a time)

-Willingness to learn

-Able to do cleaning projects in a timely and efficient manner

-Able to conform to our uniform standards:

-Women wear a German Dierndal, Men wear German Lederhosen

-Ability to cover any visible tattoos, no unnatural hair colors, no visible facial piercings

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS OF THIS POSITION Fundamental Requirements: 

  • Work closely with other members of the restaurant staff to ensure a smooth operation of the restaurant
  • Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
  • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Helps patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails and appetizer; suggesting courses; answering food preparation questions.
  • Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices; identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests.
  • Serves orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
  • Prepares cocktails, beers and other bar-menu items as needed
  • Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
  • Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning change or credit card and signature slip to patrons.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical requirements:

  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Ability to stand for long hours
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Job Type: Full-time
