Type of hire: contract
- Application Support Engineer serves as the highest level of operational support for enterprise applications, retail technology platforms, and payment systems.
- This role is responsible for investigating and resolving complex technical issues escalated from support teams, performing root cause analysis, driving permanent corrective actions, and improving overall platform reliability.
- The engineer acts as a technical subject matter expert (SME), partnering with application, infrastructure, network, and development teams to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of business-critical services.
- This role is responsible for investigating and resolving complex technical issues escalated from support teams, performing root cause analysis, driving permanent corrective actions, and improving overall platform reliability.
- The engineer acts as a technical subject matter expert (SME), partnering with application, infrastructure, network, and development teams to ensure the stability, availability, and performance of business-critical services.
The key tech skills we're looking for are:
- Point of Sale (POS) systems and Retail Payment Systems
- Support and troubleshooting of peripherals such as printers, scanners, and cash drawers
- PowerShell scripting
- Strong understanding of Windows OS internals (storage/HDDs, RAID, memory, performance troubleshooting)
- ServiceNow or a similar ITSM platform
- Candidates with hands-on experience supporting retail store environments and troubleshooting POS infrastructure at the L3 level would be highly preferred.
