Job description

Maintenance Technician III Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician III is a senior-level maintenance professional responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving facility equipment and systems. This role provides leadership to the maintenance team, supports production operations, and helps ensure equipment reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties of Maintenance Technician I and II.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve equipment failures.
  • Develop and support preventive maintenance programs.
  • Inspect equipment and identify root causes of recurring problems.
  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Perform electrical work, including low-voltage and 480-volt three-phase systems.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain equipment control systems.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and correct equipment issues.
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior maintenance technicians.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex equipment problems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets and maintenance software.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to train and support others.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience leading maintenance projects and coordinating resources.
  • Journeyman Electrician License preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, up to 10-12 hours per shift.
  • Work in a manufacturing or non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Frequently push, pull, reach, bend, and grasp objects.
  • Occasionally climb stairs and access elevated areas as needed.
