    Job description

    Wood Minerals & Metals is seeking an Electrical Construction Superintendent for the Denison Wheeler River Phoenix project site near Williams Lake, SK. The successful candidate will liaise with the Integrated Project Team, client and contractor personnel to successfully support the construction and commissioning stages of the project.

    The Role

    As a member of the Integrated Project Team, the Electrical Superintendent will be a senior construction leader responsible for supervising contractors tasked with the safe and effective completion of electrical scopes on site.

    Expected:

    • 8-15 years experience in the construction industry
    • Red Seal Electrician with minimum 10 years experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
    • Previous experience in an electrical engineering environment is an asset
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
    • General knowledge pertaining to the construction goals; especially those of other disciplines'
    • Previous experience working on large scale industrial project
    • Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required

    Typical responsibilities:

    • Manage the installation of electrical services on site
    • Management of site Lock-out/Tag-Out program as it relates to energy isolation on electrical systems
    • Interface with Saskatchewan Electrical Inspectors. Production and management of reports and installation certification.
    • Field management of multiple contractors on site
    • Monitor contractor performance ensuring compliance with all project objectives - HSSE, Cost, Schedule, and Quality and on time completion of their scopes of work
    • Production of daily reports against progress of their portion of the overall project schedule
    • Develop team relationships to ensure smooth interaction between parties responsible for work identification, planning & scheduling, resource provision, and execution of work
    • Control nonconforming products, services and their subsequent repair, and re-work until corrective actions have been implemented
    • Ensure compliance with established safety and environmental programs to execute services with zero harm to people, environment, and plant
    • Monitor, participate and lead safety performance of contractors. Implement steps to rectify any trends of deficiencies in performance of the program
    • Ensure safety reporting, incidents, and near misses are reported both in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the standard procedure
    • Maintain a thorough and comprehensive record of actions and events. Document and/or obtain necessary detail to provide a clear understanding of particular occurrences and conditions
    • Ensure a high standard of discipline support is provided across the project consistently
    • Assist in the identification, documentation and communication of the organization's deliverables and dependencies across the project
    • Clearly identify cross-project interfaces
    • Support the Turnover process from construction to commissioning
    • All other duties as assigned
