Winpakis seeking anArea Sales Managerto support ourFood and Beverage team based out of any of the southwestern States in the USA.

As part of the Sales team, you will report to the Regional Sales Manager (West) and represent Winpak’s image in the marketplace in a highly professional manner. With a focus on strategic, consultative selling and market development, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, understanding customer needs, and positioning Winpak’s integrated value proposition. You would append the teams efforts of going above and beyond to deliver innovative solutions that help our clients’ businesses be successful.

Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Development & Growth
  • Develop and execute multi-channel market development strategies to identify new customers, markets, and sales opportunities through direct prospecting, industry networks, trade shows, and other channels.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to create or grow prospect relationships, and introduce new Winpak solutions.
  • Partner with Marketing and other internal teams to leverage campaigns, market insights, and targeted programs to generate qualified sales opportunities.
Consultative & Value-Based Selling
  • Execute a consultative sales approach, understanding customer/prospectchallenges and developing solutions that deliver measurable business value.
  • Position Winpak’s integrated value proposition, including hardware, consumables, services, and packaging solutions.
  • Demonstrate total cost of ownership, ROI, and long-term value to customers rather than relying primarily on price or legacy relationships
  • Build multi-level relationships with key customer decision-makers and effectively communicate Winpak’s solutions and value proposition.
Customer & Territory Management
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by effectively managing changes in order requirements, timelines, and product specifications within a dynamic industry.
  • Prepare and process customer orders to ensure products are produced and shipped according to customer expectations.
  • Maintain pricing consistency in line with published guidelines or customer quotations.
  • Collaborate with the Winpak Graphics Department to provide relevant information for customer graphic requests.
  • Assist in the collection of receivables and ensure accurate and timely completion of expense reports.
  • Communicate changes in orders or requirements, such as lead times, product changes, or order size, to both customers and internal teams.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and coordinate corrective action with the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to set budgets and company policies while traveling as necessary within the assigned territory to maximize sales opportunities, provide sales forecasts, and attend trade shows and seminars.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in a role that required you to identify and pursue sales opportunities, close deals, and meet or exceed sales targets within a food and beverage market
  • 3+ years of experience building long-term client relationships in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.
  • 2+ years of experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to track sales activity, customer interactions, and sales pipeline an asset
  • Able to travel as required and as much as 50% of the time to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and oversee sales activities within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Sales, Packaging, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in the packaging industry, with a preference for supporting food and beverage products
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with internal teams (e.g., production, logistics, sales support) to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
  • This position requires travel within the Southwestern region of the United States of America
  • A valid driver’s license is required for travel purposes.

The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000 annually. Compensation depends on skills and experience, and this is a general guideline.
