    Job description

    We are seeking a Leather Preparer and Weaver in Training to join our production team. This is a hands-on, on-site role for an emerging craftsperson who will learn how to prepare hides for weaving, dress, and weave by hand, on a 16+ harness loom.

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

    • Highest organizational skills
    • Strong attention to detail and pride in all areas of work
    • Curiosity, and a desire to master new skills

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    • Respectfully handle and care for leather
    • Learn the mechanical operations of, and maintain Italian machinery
    • Split, skive, and strip skins, with precision in preparation for weaving
    • Collaborate with our team to meet design requirements, and production timelines
    • Master the art of weaving

    PLEASE HAVE

    • Very strong character references
    • Very strong professional or academic references, indicating the highest degree of reliability

    Salary/Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
