PrideStaff - Greenville is seeking an experienced, dependable, and knowledgeable Weaver for a leading textile manufacturer for our customer in the Piedmont/Pelzer, SC area.


In this vital factory-floor role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining a designated set of industrial weaving machines and looms to produce high-quality webbing products. This position requires deep manufacturing focus, exceptional attention to detail, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to team safety and production efficiency.


Weaver Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:

Your main responsibility is the continuous, efficient operation of assigned industrial looms, ensuring all woven products meet strict quality standards and width specifications.

  • Loom Operation: Monitor and operate a designated set of weaving machines, ensuring high production efficiency and structural fabric quality.
  • Material Management: Change filling in the loom by replacing empty quills with full quills, re-thread shuttles at filling out, and maintain a sufficient supply of filling at your station.
  • Quality Inspections: Continuously patrol and inspect moving webbing for quality defects, misdraws, and mis-reeds; flag and stop the loom immediately if defects or breakdowns occur.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose basic mechanical issues, adjust loom settings, and repair or replace parts when flagged, carefully documenting all corrective actions.
  • Yarn Maintenance: Quickly spot and replace broken yarn ends as they occur; check looms regularly for proper warp tension.
  • Data Tracking: Record critical metrics on the loom downtime sheet during warp outs, breakdowns, style changes, or missing mill orders; mark loom numbers on the warp out sheet when warps come off.
  • Precision Testing: Perform routine width, camber, and thickness checks on products and record data on the proper quality forms.
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment while strictly following all quality policies and safety procedures.

 

Weaver Qualifications include:

  • Required Experience: 1+ years of experience working as an industrial Weaver, experienced sewer, or textile machine operator is highly preferred.
  • Manufacturing Background: Strong history of working on active factory and industrial floors with a solid understanding of manufacturing paces and safety compliance.
  • Manual Dexterity: Exceptional hand-eye coordination and steady hands for the intricate task of repairing and threading looms.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent vision and focus to quickly spot tiny irregularities, misalignments, or defects in the moving woven product.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: A basic understanding of weaving machinery operations with the capacity to troubleshoot minor operational problems.
  • Physical Stamina: Physical capability to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive manual tasks throughout a full 8-hour shift.
  • Reliability: Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is an absolute requirement for this client.
