You will work closely with Wabtec’s Product Engineering teams across multiple global sites, including specialists in brakes, safety systems, controls, RAMS, FEA, and validation. You will partner cross-functionally with Project Managers, engineering leaders, and global teams based in Europe and India, while serving as the primary technical interface with customers.

You will also support project execution by identifying and mitigating risks while maintaining a strong customer focus.

    • Experience with requirements traceability tools (e.g., Polarion)

    • Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and PLM systems such as Teamcenter is preferred

    • Ability to work in a global environment with cross-functional teams across regions

    • Self-driven with strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of brake systems and control electronics

    • Experience supporting safety-critical systems and compliance processes

    • Prior experience in rail or transportation industries

What will your typical day look like?

    • Serve as the primary engineering contact for customers, ensuring clear communication and timely issue resolution

    • Coordinate engineering activities across product teams to ensure project alignment and execution

    • Manage and maintain system and subsystem requirements, ensuring proper flow-down and traceability

    • Drive technical quality from development through serial production

    • Plan, execute, and document Verification & Validation (V&V) activities

    • Ensure system performance meets customer contracts, Wabtec standards, and safety requirements

    • Lead brake system homologation and ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements

    • Identify and mitigate technical risks while aligning engineering scope with customer expectations

    • Represent engineering within the Project Core Team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

    • Develop and manage the project engineering plan, including integration, validation, and product delivery

What about the physical demands of the job?

This role primarily involves office-based engineering and coordination work, with potential for occasional travel to customer or project sites. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively, work on a computer for extended periods, and collaborate across global teams.
