Location: Independence, Iowa

Duration: On-going

Conformity Inspector:ย 

  • Aerospace Conformity Inspector is responsible for verifying that aircraft, aerospace components, manufacturing processes, and supplier operations conform to engineering requirements, customer specifications, regulatory standards, and quality management system requirements.
  • This role ensures compliance with applicable aerospace standards and supports the production and delivery of safe, reliable, and airworthy products.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform conformity inspections on aerospace parts, assemblies, tools, and processes to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements.Verify material certifications, process certifications, and traceability documentation.Review and validate manufacturing planning, work instructions, and inspection records.Inspect electrical, mechanical, and structural assemblies for compliance with applicable standards and specifications.Identify, document, and report nonconforming conditions and support corrective action activities.Monitor supplier manufacturing and quality processes to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.Review and approve inspection documentation, test reports, and quality records.Participate in audits and assessments of suppliers and internal manufacturing operations.Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and customer representatives to resolve technical and quality issues.Ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and company procedures.Support source inspections, product verification activities, and special process validations as required.Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed inspection reports and status updates.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or technical certification preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of aerospace inspection, manufacturing, or quality assurance experience.
  • Background and Experience with 8130-9 Inspection and buy off (CofC)
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements, and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Ability to review manufacturing records, certifications, and quality documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and quality management software systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
