Description
Job Summary
Inspects products in pre-hardening, post-hardening and finishing operation phases for compliance with order specifications, established company standards, and conformance with the company's quality control system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs pre-hardening inspection using ultrasonic and mechanical procedures to qualify product quality for the hardening operation.
• Performs post-hardening inspection using hardness testing equipment to approve product for the finish machining operations.
• Conducts finish inspection of rolls using micrometers, scales, profilometers, calipers, testing devices and gauss meters to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Performs ultrasonic inspection, dye penetrate, magna flux testing and roll etching of finished product.
• Documents inspection results through the completion of relevant records, including inspection cards, nonconformance reports, and receiving reports.
• Receives and inspects customer rolls to determine processing requirements.
• Manages inspection activities associated with parts assembly.

Education/Experience (all education/experience bullets are required unless noted as "preferred")
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; AS Degree preferred
• 0-3 years of relevant experience

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to identify a problem or issue and explain findings to a chosen audience

• Ability to use precision measuring devices

• Ultrasonic Certification Level I and Level II
