Position Summary
The Tailor/Seamstress is responsible for performing high-quality alterations on luxury men's and women's garments, ensuring all work is completed accurately, professionally, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities
- Perform expert alterations on men's and women's garments, including suits, sport coats, blazers, shirts, dresses, trousers, and other apparel.
- Execute a wide range of alterations, including:
- Shortening or lengthening sleeves
- Tapering garment sides
- Lowering collars
- Taking in or letting out trouser waists
- Adjusting trouser seat and rise
- Shortening or lengthening pant legs
- Tapering trouser thighs and leg openings
- Ensure garments achieve proper fit, comfort, and appearance according to client specifications.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions with clients and team members.
- Monitor and track daily alteration production while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Press finished garments, remove loose threads, perform quality inspections, and prepare items for client delivery.
- Complete all alterations accurately and within established timelines to meet customer expectations and delivery commitments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork and production records related to daily assignments.
- Minimum of 5 years of tailoring experience in a retail, custom clothing, or customer-service environment
- Strong knowledge of men's and women's garment construction
- Ability to perform high-quality alterations by both hand and machine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
