Job description

What you will be doing as a Security Communications Officer:

The Security Comms Officer is primarily responsible for receiving calls, dispatching, camera monitoring and administrative functions occurring in the Security Operations Center. The Security Comms Officer must be able to act quickly, efficiently, calmly, and accurately during emergent situations. This role must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and overtime when needed.

This position will also require the employee to assist the security team operations, including but not limited to monitoring of camera systems, access controls, alarm monitoring, and key administration.  Other functions may include keeping records, report writing, typing clerical duties, cleaning, training, and other duties as assigned.

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

  • Call Management: Receive and assign requests from employees, contractors, customers, guests, and the public
  • Emergency Dispatch: Dispatch Security, Fire, Emergency Medical Services, law enforcement, and other resources
  • Coordination: Coordinate daily activities with onsite Security and Fire personnel
  • System Utilization: Use Computer Aided Dispatching and Report Management Systems to dispatch and document incidents
  • Information Handling: Transmit and retrieve information through security data networks
  • Facility Monitoring: Monitor facilities using access control, video management, and radio systems
  • Access Control: Issue keys and electronic access controls through approval systems
  • Training Support: Assist and train new communications officers as needed
  • Personal Accountability: Maintain, clean, and care for Textron Aviation equipment.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is required.

A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management or a related degree is helpful and preferred.

Up to 8 years customer service-related experience is helpful

Successfully complete all training and obtain all required permits, licenses, and certifications for the site, including but not limited to a municipality Security Guard permit

 Successful passing of the communications officer training as defined by Textron Aviation Security is required

QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to possess a government clearance at any time during your employment if needed

Standard personnel security requirements as designated within NISPOM 5220.22-M chapters 2 and 3 apply

Must be able to work flexible hours to include some weekends and holidays.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, contractors, and the public is needed

Skillset that allows you to multitask in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure (in emergency and non-emergency scenarios) is needed.

Ability to read, write, type, and communicate effectively.

Ability to use multiple software platforms including but not limited to the Microsoft Office Suite and security platforms.
