Overview
TEC Equipment has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Technician to join our Operations team. The Facilities Technician acts as a lead on the Facilities team, and reports directly to the Facilities Manager. This role is never dull and benefits from the variety of locales and maintenance challenges that cycle from month to month. You will be equipped with a company vehicle to work on projects at multiple TEC locations including Sacramento, Dixon, Stockton, Oakland, and San Francisco. If you are a multi-trade general facilities technician with experience being responsible for maintenance, repairs, and other property management related duties we encourage you to apply.
The Facilities Technician is a valued role that is key to the success of the entire team. Creating solutions that cause minimal impact from building repair and maintenance tasks allows branch employees to focus their time creating opportunities that supports TEC customers and employees, which in turn results in strong, steady, and sustainable business growth. Responsibilities
- Fixing and repairing items indoor and outdoor on company property. Perform repairs to buildings, including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and irrigation. Also performs repairs to fixtures and furniture.
- General maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness in the organization to ensure that the facilities and equipment are in good working order at all times.
- Performs landscaping duties to include mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, fertilizing, and spraying on company property, as required.
- Performs preventive maintenance in all areas of the facilities.
- Completes all maintenance/facilities requests as assigned and keeps Facilities Manager informed of progress.
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
- Alert the Facilities Manager of any unusual occurence and/or damage on the property.
- Properly maintains all departmental equipment including vehicles, tools, and work equipment in clean, orderly and operational condition.
- Writes routine reports and correspondence as needed, including expense related reporting.
- Works cooperatively with other staff memner using a team approach. Acts as Facilities Department lead on projects as designated by the Facilities Manager.
- Uses good safety practices at all times; applies all accident, fire safety, and/or emergency standards in complaince with all local, state and federal jurisdications and within TEC Equipment standards.
- Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization.
Qualifications
- Must be dependable, able to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, manage time effectively and work with minumum supervision
- Adaptable to a changing work environment with new tasks and assignments and able to adapt instsruction from one assignment to another
- Willingness to learn new skills to meet the needs of a growing company
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
